July 2025 – Mike Eicher, senior vice president, and president of The Ohio State University Foundation, was recently honored with the prestigious E. Burr Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). He received the award for his transformative campaigns and unwavering commitment to mentoring the next generation of advancement leaders.
CASE is the professional organization for advancement. Its awards celebrate individuals whose leadership and service have made a lasting global impact on education and the advancement profession. Eicher was recognized at a ceremony at the CASE Summit for Leaders in Advancement that took place in New York City on July 13.
Throughout his remarkable career, spanning both public and private universities, Eicher has led some of the largest and most successful fundraising campaigns in higher education. At Ohio State, he spearheaded Time and Change: The Ohio State Campaign, the most successful in university history raising $5.4 billion from 814,000 donors and inspiring widespread volunteerism. He also oversaw the previous But for Ohio State campaign, which raised $3 billion.
Eicher’s strategic leadership, mentorship and dedication to professional development have shaped and inspired a generation of advancement professionals, many of whom have gone on to lead major campaigns themselves.
